As 2024 draws to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what made this year so remarkable- not just for us, but for everyone connected to eye square. This year, we embraced that mission with renewed passion, working alongside inspiring clients, collaborators, and friends to explore the complexity and beauty of human interaction with the evolving technology of the digital era.

 

2024 wasn’t just about breakthroughs like our new SEAL-InContext eye tracking technology or the impactful studies we conducted- the moments were important too, such as seeing how our insights sparked new ideas, celebrating the connections we built across the globe, and sharing the excitement of our 25th anniversary with so many of you.

 

None of this would have been possible without you. Whether you partnered with us on a project, attended an event, or simply followed our journey, you’ve played a part in shaping an unforgettable year. Here are the top five highlights that made 2024 a year to remember at eye square and enhanced our passion for understanding the Human Experience in depth!

AUDIENCExSCIENCE

In March, our eye square experts made their mark at the AUDIENCExSCIENCE conference in New York. This annual event brought together global leaders in advertising research to explore innovations in audience measurement. eye square contributed with two groundbreaking presentations:

  • “Mapping the Impact”, presented by Jeff Bander, Marvin Vogt, and Sandra Schümann, demonstrated how TV ad effectiveness is shaped by the viewing context which utilized our unique InContext technology.
  • “Human Experience – Why Attention AI Needs Human Input”, delivered by Dr. Matthias Rothensee and Stefan Schönherr, underscored the importance of integrating human insights into attention metrics.

Memex Berlin 2024

25 years eye square…

This year marked a major milestone: eye square’s 25th anniversary. The peak of our celebration was our Memex Conference; there, we reflected on the past, present, and future of our journey. Under the motto “25 Years Forward”, the event brought together an extraordinary mix of speakers who blended science, technology, and art to explore new ideas and possibilities. Held at our Berlin headquarters by the Berlin Spree, the event included engaging talks and presentations with a vibrant, after-conference celebration.

Advertising Week

From October 7th to the 11th, our eye square specialist, Stefan Schönherr, visited Manhattan for the Advertising Week. Every year, marketing and communication leaders from New York, get together for Advertising Week to share their knowledge. eye square also contributed to the event by presenting the study “Authenticity Sells: Creators Enhancing Brand Reputation and Commerce” which was presented by Stefan. In their study, more than 5,000 social media users were measured to find out how creator messages enhance brand impact and sales, making brands appear more innovative and cheerful.

Screenforce Events

Into the Wild

A very special study followed us throughout the entire year and was presented multiple times at various events by our eye square experts: the Screenforce study “Into the Wild”. In this study, we partnered with Screenforce to research together how effective advertising is perceived or avoided. This was a major topic for us, and our experts showcased it at multiple events, including the Digital Marketing Summit 2024, Horizont Werbewirkungsgipfel 2024, DMEXCO Event in Cologne and of course the Screenforce events. DWG Symposium

Part of our company’s celebration of the 25th anniversary was the 2024 DWG AI Symposium in Berlin! On July 4th, the 12th Efficiency Day of the German Advertising Society took place at eye square, which was marked by a special conference on the topic “AI in Market Communication”. This was led by Prof. Jürgen Schulz from the University of the Arts. Experts from various fields such as science, technology, media, art, and theology convened and exchanged, with in-depth discussions on how artificial intelligence influences market communication, discussing both opportunities and challenges. The talks have shown how new technologies are advancing and being utilized, with emphasis on how important it is for people to be sensitive and make good decisions so that AI can be helpful and protects us from fake or hostile AI systems.
