Kirsten Morehouse from Harvard University is a scientist,  primarily involved in social psychology and its questions in the age of AI. Kirsten’s work is dedicated to understanding implicit long-term effects, identity, and biases in AI. She is in the Lab of Mahzarin Banaji at Harvard University. The Implicit Lab is dedicated to outsmarting implicit bias. For more than 30 years, Mahzarin’s lab has contributed to the worldwide understanding of the implicit. The lab also supported the open use of reaction time measurements, especially the IAT.

The Art of Tracing the Implicit

A science and art workshop about the implicit and ways  to encounter it via science and art .

 

We will especially explore Turkish, East-West, and the question of European and German identity.

 

You will get a complete update on the most recent findings of implicit attitudes, their technical measures, and you will be able to create an outstanding art piece. We hope this will give you a better understanding of yourself and others, and help you bring more joy to your social networks.

 

The workshop is hosted by two outstanding artists and scientists:

Joulia Straus  is an artist, lecturer and trainer. Her sculptures, paintings, performances, multimedia works, have been seen in solo and group exhibitions at the Pergamon Museum and Martin-Gropius-Bau in Berlin, at Tate Modern, the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe, documenta14, among others. Strauss has contributed to the art movement of Neo-Academism, collaborated closely with Friedrich Kittler, she is the founder and organizer of Avtonomi Akadimia in Athens. Most recently, Joulia has released a new movie about indigenous people. She is currently training to earn her fourth stripe in Việt Võ Đạo Kung Fu.
